The Hideaway is a beautiful conversion of a historic mill in quiet, beautiful countryside
Guest Review, Scott, Hildenborough, August 2018
The Hideaway was fully refurbished in Spring 2018 and is set over the upper two floors of this stunning former water mill which dates back to 1750. With its own private entrance and garden area The Hideaway offers luxury country coastal living for those visiting Cornwall.
Guests will experience upside down living entering into the open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area with its vaulted ceilings and exposed wooden beams. This upper floor has skylights in addition to the lower windows and The Hideaway has its own heating controls.
The fully equipped kitchen enables guests to enjoy time at their pace with produce available locally for those wishing to get in touch with their culinary skills. A dishwasher, fridge, ice machine, wine fridge, oven, hob, toaster, kettle and coffee machine are available along with crockery, glassware, cutlery, bake and cookware for use during your time with us. The living area has a comfy sofa with Cornish tartan cushions and a large footstool for you to stretch out and relax whilst enjoying the cosy wood burning stove.
A staircase takes you down to your large bedroom with a super king size bed with bedding that will invite you to have a longer lie in. A raised bath in your bedroom is further complemented with an en suite shower room with rain fall shower head, toiletries, heated towel rail, natural daylight and guests will enjoy oversized fluffy towels and bath robes. Your bedroom has three windows for plenty of daylight affording views over the grounds and gardens.
A private terrace seating area, with outdoor lighting, enables guests to relax and enjoy this secluded sun trap. From August The Hideaway will also have a Hikki wood fired hot tub looking down over the tiered gardens with the sound of the river, bird song and each other to keep you company.... Guests are welcome to explore the grounds which includes 6 acres of orchards, woodland and meadows bordered by the River Porth.

New for Summer 2020
Summer 2020 will see the exciting launch of The Wriggly Tin, our brand-new bespoke Shepherd’s Hut set in one of our Victorian orchards with your very own flock of Ryland Sheep to admire and muse over. The outdoor wood fired hot tub invites you to relax alone or share the soothing warm waters. Be in the moment and enjoy this very special experience with the soundtrack of the birds, the river and gentle baaing of the Rylands.
Sleeping at The Wriggly Tin is an experience. Enjoy fine linens, comfy bedding, the sumptuous king-size bed gives you the permission to stay in bed a little longer. The best part is the large arched roof window which is perfect for star gazers and day dreamers alike. For those who want breakfast in bed, snuggle up and gaze at the Orchard and Rylands through the window at the foot of the bed – It doesn’t get much better than this.
The Wriggly Tin features an en suite shower room in which you will find fluffy Kingsize towels, bathrobes and our favourite shampoo and shower gel.

The Duchy Barn - Opening 2021
We are delighted to be creating a new luxury holiday cottage here at Tregoose. The Duchy Barn will have personality and individuality in abundance whilst replicating the level of detail and personal touches we have been recognised for in The Hideaway and The Wriggly Tin.
Perfect for couples this cottage will boast a cosy living area with log burner, a spacious king size bed, free standing bath and a double headed rainfall shower.
The building that will house the new cottage is the former millers workshop which is believed to date back to around 1750. We hope to have this beautiful cottage open by the spring of 2021.
